HW- Writing a Paper due 11/30

We have now spent time discussing two of Salinger's short stories in detail, focusing on a variety of literary techniques employed by Salinger throughout his writing. Write a three (3) page paper in which you explore Salinger's development of despair. You will focus on "A Perfect Day for Bananafish", but feel free to discuss Salinger's "The Laughing Man" to help you support your assertion. You will follow the structure of the inverted triangle to develop your introduction.

Homework

1. Complete definitions and sentences for the following words: liberation, amalgamate, pique, mirthless, vacuole, and opium. (This assignment will be checked for a 15 point HW grade)
2. If you have not completed reading the story "The Laughing Man", you will be expected to by the next class.
3. Prepare to have a quiz

2. Correct vocabulary words from the quiz. You are to spell and define all of the words correctly. You will also write ten sentences using the words properly. Be sure to complete this assignment it will be worth 30 points.
