Literary Analysis-Romeo and Juliet
In a four page, double spaced paper which conforms to MLA standards, you are to address any ONE of the following topics:
1. Examine Shakespeare's treatment of women throughout the play.
2. Examine the relationships between parents and their children. Come to a conclusion about what, according to Shakespeare, it should be like.
3. Examine and evaluate the role of Friar Lawrence in the play.
4. Examine and evaluate the role of Paris in the play.
5. Analyze Shakespeare's use of dramatic irony and the idea of ignorance in the play.
6. Examine Shakespeare's message about youth in love. Be sure to address the willingness of the characters to commit suicide.
**Must have three sources.
**Must use quotes, but they may not exceed 20% of the paper.
**Use the inverted pyramid paragraph for the intro (Make sure that it reads like a slide and not a flight of stairs).
**Thesis must answer the question and be 1)arguable and 2)specific.

Manic Juliet
Reread III ii and write 250 words in which you explore the changes in Juliet's emotions. Make sure that you get into the cause of each emotional shift and that you explain your ideas in detail.
